MacQuarie Capital Cup – 17 Oct 2022

We are absolutely delighted to share that Equitix were crowned champions at the Infra World Cup of 5-a-side football, “The MacQuarie Capital Cup” on Friday night.

Our team of 8, Michael McBrearty, Holly Leonard, Samuel Allen, Sam Madigan CEng MICE, Daniel McGoohan, Tunde Ogunshakin, Se Ho Lee and Andrew Dick, along with our guest player, Ahmed from Street League, aka “Ecuador”, won comfortably in group A against Netherlands (3i Group plc), South Korea (Macquarie Group) and Portugal (Global Infrastructure Partners). We played on through the quarter finals and semi-finals to ultimately beat Argentina (KKR & Co. Inc.) on penalties.

Fantastic stuff from our team and great sportsmanship from all the teams who took part in the tournament. Congratulations to all and enormous thanks to Katrina Auguste and her family for their help in putting us through our paces.

The #macquariecapitalcup was set up by Macquarie Group Foundation and Street League as a 3-year partnership to combat youth unemployment in the UK. Street League works in some of the most deprived areas of the UK and aim to help some of the 2.7m young people living in poverty in the UK.
