Air Tanker

This is a 27-year PFI/PPP concession known as the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (“FSTA”) contract. The FSTA consists of a fleet of 14 specifically adapted Airbus A330-200 Air-to-Air Refuelling (“AAR”) and Air Transport (“AT”) aircraft for the Royal Air Force (“RAF”), known as Voyagers. The FSTA also includes the provision of the necessary supporting infrastructure including a two-bay hangar, training, maintenance, flight operations, fleet management and ground services. All aircraft were delivered and fully operational by 2016. The concession is due to expire in March 2035.In November 2022, the project undertook the worlds first 100% sustainable aviation fuel flight on a military aircraft of this type. The project was awarded Best Operational Project – Defence, Transportation, Industry in 2023 at the Partnership Awards.

Equitix holds a 38.5% interest in the project.
