Calisen is an owner, installer, and manager of essential energy infrastructure. Its core business involves owning, financing, and installing smart metering infrastructure assets across the UK and Europe on behalf of energy and water suppliers. Calisen provides comprehensive end-to-end metering services, including the provision (MAP), installation and maintenance (MOP/MAM), and meter reading and data collection/aggregation (DC/DA) for electricity, gas and water metering infrastructure. Smart meters are a key enabler of the digital energy landscape as the UK transitions toward decarbonisation and a cleaner future. They help consumers adopt smart technology in their homes, reduce energy and water usage, and make informed choices. Calisen’s meter portfolio exceeds 15 million units and continues to grow.

Equitix-managed funds’ investment in Calisen originated through the merger of its MapleCo business, primarily an asset-only provider, with Calisen, a full-service corporate business. As part of the transaction, Equitix also committed additional capital to acquire a larger stake in the newly combined entity.
