Oman Tech Infrastructure SAOC

Oman Tech Infrastructure SAOC (OmanTech) is the leading independent telecom tower operator in Oman. Its network comprises over 2,500 sites, located in both low- and high-density rural areas.

Rakiza, a joint venture between Equitix and the Oman Investment Authory, acquired a 30% equity stake in the largest Omani portfolio of operational passive telecom infrastructure assets previously owned and divested by Omantel, the country’s largest mobile network operator (“MNO”).

The business has the potential to further monetise its assets by expanding the portfolio through organic growth (building new towers) and increasing the lease-up ratio. This is supported by macro trends such as rising data consumption, the roll-out of 5G, and the entry of new market players.

In 2023, Vodafone entered the Omani market and signed a long-term master service agreement with OmanTech for rental services across new and existing towers. Other customers include Omantel and Ooredoo, both of whom are in the process of upgrading their active equipment to 5G.

Helios Towers (“HT”) acquired the remaining 70% stake alongside Equitix.
