Amanda Leness is an infrastructure investment professional with over 25 years experience creating and executing business strategies that deliver superior shareholder returns and stakeholder benefits over the long term.

A Managing Director in Equitix’s portfolio department, Amanda brings expertise in rail finance and experience driving value in public private partnerships across the core infrastructure sectors and at all stages of the deal and project cycles.

Upon joining Equitix in 2018, she established the transport team within Asset Management during the acquisition of over £1bn AUM in rolling stock leasing and rail infrastructure projects. She has onboarded landmark transactions, such as the take private of the John Laing Infrastructure Fund and developed portfolio risk management and controls that have supported rapid growth and diversification into new sectors and geographies.

With Equitix and previously as an advisor, Amanda has steered companies through strategic, leadership and organisational changes, growth, distress, recovery and investor exit. She has led bids, overseen supply chain, contract and regulatory reviews and contributed to refinancings.

Amanda’s project finance career began with the International Finance Corporation. She has worked as an advisor in EY’s Transaction Advisory Services and independently, leading engagements and in secondments in project companies in transport, power and information technology.

Amanda holds Masters degrees from London Business School and the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs where she studied economics, public policy and finance. Her undergraduate degree is from Harvard College in Russian studies with honours.
